More Ducks

Having seen a Little Egret fly over the house yesterday evening, from the direction of Nythe Pool, I thought I'd have a quick look at the Pool this afternoon just in case it came back. Unfortunately not, but there was plenty of activity on the pool, with an additional 7 Mallards upsetting the resident pair. The additions were 4 drakes chasing the 3 ducks in an attempt to court them. Unfortunately the resident pair got caught up in the melee which by the looks of it could last quite awhile.

The resident Moorhens are back, having been washed off the pool when it flooded and also a Grey Heron was stalking along the fringes of the now flattened reed bed.

Six of the nine Mallard on the pool.
