Local News Today

In the pond today a pair of Frogs were mating and really upsetting the fish. No sign of any frog spawn but I don't think it will be long before some appears.

It was quite Spring-like outside with lots of birds singing away especially the House Sparrows and Starlings. A Blue Tit churred and everything went silent as a female Sparrowhawk landed on a neighbours roof, only to be chased off by one of the resident Carrion Crows.

A few other visitors to the neighbourhood today were pairs of Blackbirds, Collared Doves, Wood Pigeons and Great Tits. It must be Spring!!

And not forgetting another pair the Blue Tits which gave the Sparrowhawk alert.

As the evening drew in a flock of 400+ Starlings headed north over the estate and small flocks of Lesser Black-backed Gulls followed the same flight path.
