With my bag of mixed seeds is back to hiding a few morsels in between the ivy overhanging the hand rails of the bridge. First down was a Blue Tit, followed by Great Tit and Marsh Tit. There was no sign of any Coal Tits, but in the trees around me I could hear Nuthatch and Long-tailed Tit, neither of which were tempted by the freebies. In the trees across the road a pair of Woodpigeons looked on as did a least 3 Robins.

Further along the lane the workman have blocked off one side of the road, closest to the lake. The only thing I can think of is that they maybe making plans to lay some drainage pipes under the road from the woods on the other-side. The woodland is absolutely saturated with about a foot or more water going way back.
With traffic lights in position I decided to head back to Nythe via Hodson and Chiseldon. In Hodson a Red-legged Partridge scurried across the road in front of me followed by a Pheasant. By the time I had stopped and got the camera out the Partridge was heading across the field at great speed.
